Farr West, Pleasant View talk about commercial development

FARR WEST - Discussions between this city and Pleasant View regarding the development of commercial property along 2700 North are getting close, according to professional planner John Jansen.

Jansen met recently with planning commission and council members and said the two cities will need to decide how profits will be divided. He compared the situation to that of the Walmart store in Perry, with the parking lot in Brigham City.

Jansen said the two cities continue to look at their development vision for the area and the implementation of strategies and a business plan. He also said an important issue was housing development in the area and said Pleasant View already has a zone which allows high-density housing in some areas of the city.

“We’ll have a joint meeting and get it rolling along before October,” Jansen said.
