SYRACUSE — A 64-year-old Nevada man is accused of molesting two young girls during a visit at Christmastime, police said.
Syracuse Police Lt. Tracy Jensen said Charles Sherman Price was booked in Davis County Jail on Tuesday after being extradited from Nevada. He is being held on no bail.
Price, of Henderson, Nev., is charged with two counts of first-degree felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child. The charges were filed in 2nd District Court on July 25. Police got a warrant and arrested Price in Henderson, where he was held until Tuesday when he was transported to Davis County.
Jensen said police interviewed the two girls, ages 9 and 13, two weeks ago.
“This is a sad case,” Jensen said. "It’s sad to see what’s happening ... how do you overcome something like this...”
Jensen said police are continuing the investigation and more charges could be filed either in Farmington or in Nevada.
According to court documents, the incidents occurred sometime between Nov. 24, 2011, and Dec. 30, 2011. Price is accused of touching the two girls inappropriately under their clothing.
If convicted of either charge, Price is facing a mandatory sentence of 15 years to life on each count in Utah State Prison.
