Man booked on assault charges in Davis County

WOODS CROSS — A 61-year-old man is facing first-degree felony charges after being arrested by Woods Cross police.

William Roger Vodopich was booked in Davis County Jail on Wednesday. He is charged with one count of forcible sodomy, one count of assault and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Woods Cross Police Chief Greg Butler said he could not comment on the case and referred all media calls to the Davis County Attorney’s Office.

The Davis County Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case before filing it for formal charges in 2nd District Court. Charges could be filed as early as today and Vodopich could make his first court appearance this afternoon.

According to the court website, Vodopich had pleaded guilty in 2010 to two charges of possession of a controlled substance. In 2011 his probation was terminated as unsuccessful and he served a year in jail.
