BRIGHAM CITY - A change in zoning to allow a taxidermy shop, animal clinic and small butcher shop along U.S. 89 in South Willard has been approved.
The Box Elder County Commission on Wednesday gave the thumbs up to owner Randy Marriott, changing the zoning for the two-acre parcel from residential to "neighborhood commercial."
The zone change falls in line with a master plan for unincorporated South Willard that calls for all zoning along the busy highway eventually to be commercial.
The language in the community plan "specifically says the frontage along Highway 89 should be commercial as (it is) applied for," county planner Scott Lyons told the commission.
The property is at approximately 8200 South.
