Marilyn and Dee Smith

Dee and Marilyn Smith celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 7. Friends and family may attend a celebration in their honor hosted by their children from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at 630 W. 4300 South, Riverdale.

They were married on Aug. 7, 1952, in Ogden and lived in South Ogden for most of their married lives. They have recently moved to Tremonton.

He was born on April 2, 1920, in Grace, Idaho, to Edwin and Mary Smith. He graduated from Ogden High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He was an Ogden police officer for 25 years, retiring in 1978.

She was born on April 2, 1929, in Ogden to John and Jessie Pincock. She graduated from Ogden High School and later from Weber State College. She was a nurse for more than 40 years.

Throughout their marriage, they say that they have enjoyed the cabin they built at Bear Lake and many wonderful boating and camping trips with friends.

They have four children, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
