Police ID Midvale man killed in Holladay crash

HOLLADAY— Officials have identified a 40-year-old man who was killed when his Crown Victoria veered off a road, through a fence and into a tree in Holladay.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal says Chad M. West of Midvale died of his injuries after the crash about 6 p.m. Monday.

Police say it appears speed was a factor in the car veering off the right side of the road. West was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition, but died shortly after.

Nobody else was injured in the crash.

The incident is still under investigation.
