SOUTH OGDEN -- The community is invited to participate with the Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict and the St. Benedict's Foundation in their annual Funds of Love event set for Sept. 12.
The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 12 in the Union Station Grand Lobby, 2501 Wall Ave. in Ogden.
Dinner will be catered by Union Grill Catering. There will be appetizers, drinks and an "Opportunity to Win" items during a social hour, and a few special "live auction" items.
There will be no silent auction this year.
Tables of eight are $500 and include eight dinner tickets, 16 beverage tickets and recognition at the event and in all promotional materials.
Individual tickets may be purchased for $60 and include one dinner ticket and two beverage tickets.
During the past 17 years, the St. Benedict's Foundation has been the corporate ministry of the sisters in Utah.
During that time, the foundation has distributed $4.5 million to nonprofit organizations in Northern Utah.
St. Benedict's Foundation partner programs assist more than 8,000 individuals, mostly women and children, each year through health care services, academic scholarships, youth-at-risk programs, family counseling and crisis intervention, and education to prevent child abuse.
In the future, St. Benedict's Foundation will continue to provide needed financial resources to the nonprofit organizations that the sisters, the board of directors and the Ogden community have supported in the past.
This will be done through a special fund in Minnesota that will distribute all money in the Foundation's investment portfolio, plus the interest to these same programs.
"If you or your family has been touched by the good works of the Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict, we ask you to please join us for an evening of love and gratitude, as we celebrate six beautiful women who have dedicated their lives to God in service to the people of Northern Utah," states a news release from the foundation.
