OGDEN -- Two students from Ogden-Weber Applied Technical College won top honors at the 48th annual National SkillsUSA competition.
Johna Howard earned a gold metal in dental assisting, and Dannie Ybarra took the gold in Job Demonstration.
Nearly 6,000 career and technical students, all winners in their state competitions, competed. Students worked against the clock and each other, proving their expertise in occupations such as electronics, computer-aided drafting, precision machining, medical assisting and culinary arts. OWATC had 10 students in the nationals in seven different competition areas.
