Eldon and Beverly Deamer McColley of North Ogden will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 22. Their children will honor them with a family barbecue.
They were married in North Ogden on Aug. 22, 1952. Two years later, their vows were solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple on her father's birthday June 18, 1954.
He was born in Verdel, Neb., on Oct. 24, 1929. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. His professional years were spent in finance and banking. He was on the North Ogden City Council for six years and served as mayor of North Ogden for six years.
She was born in North Ogden on Oct. 19, 1931, to Joseph and Dica Woodland Deamer. Her professional years were in education as a teacher for 35 years.
They have served in many callings in the LDS Church. They also served an LDS mission to Frankfurt, Germany.
Their children and their spouses are David McColley, Cathy Wedde, Steven and Debbie McColley, and Laurie McColley. They have 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
