SYRACUSE -- Will Bargar has been honored for helping get neighbors out of a burning home.
The city council formally honored the Syracuse resident during a recent meeting for his role in a July 13 fire near his home. Bargar was not present for the honor.
Police Chief Brian Wallace said Bargar noticed a fire in the garage of a home at 3950 West Baltimore Circle and moved quickly to alert the Skinner family and to help Stephanie Skinner and her children move to safety. A total of three cars, the garage and most of the upstairs of the home were a complete loss from the blaze.
"Thanks to the quick thinking action of Mr. Bargar there were no injuries associated with this fire," Wallace said.
