Isabella M. “Mickey” Clay of Lotus Park in Ogden was honored for her 90th birthday by her children and grandchildren at Roosters Restaurant in Ogden on Aug. 25. Her sister Anne Wilson of Colorado, her niece Joan Wheeler of California, and her nephew and his wife Pat and Sue Savage of California, were in town to celebrate with her a week early.
She was born in Hatley, Ga., on Aug. 28, 1922, to William and Estelle Harris McKee. They later moved to Phoenix, where she graduated from high school in 1940.
She married Benton M. Clay on Oct. 3, 1942, and they had seven children. Her only son, Benton M. Clay Jr., died in 1993. Her six daughters and their spouses are Arlene Clay, Portland, Ore.; Janet and Larry Price, Brigham City; Charlotte and Jim Torghele, Ogden; Karen and Rick Nelson, Seattle; Sharon and Mark Hall, Harrisville; and Debbie and Ralph Hess, Riverdale. She has 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She belonged to the Cosmopolitan Club and played Mahjong for many years. She worked for the Welcome Wagon and the Ogden Hilton Baggage Car Gift Shop for 11 years.
She has enjoyed being with her family, playing games and going to Bear Lake. She enjoys visits from family and friends.
