Island hunt bids could be donations instead

In answer to online reader’s response published below the Aug. 25 letter, "Raise funds other ways; stop island ‘slaughter’" about Antelope Island’s needing income to subsist, I have one solution. The hunters who make lavish bids to hunt and take trophy antelope, deer, etc., can instead make generous monetary donations. These two or three hunters who make the largest donation can be recognized by having their photos posted at the entrance to Antelope Island. Attractive signs along with the photos can express the heartfelt gratitude of the animals and staff for their generosity in maintaining this pristine island as a continuous safe haven for the animals.
