Stalled motorist on I-15 leads to fatal accident near Brigham City

BRIGHAM CITY — A man was killed on Interstate 15 near Brigham City on Monday afternoon.

The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. after a stalled motorist slowed traffic on the freeway, said Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson.

The man, who was driving a Ford Escape, drove into the back of a semitrailer on I-15 just south of Brigham City in the northbound lane at Mile Marker 360, Johnson said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s name was not being released Monday night.

A passenger was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.
