Senior housing zone approved by Plain City council

PLAIN CITY -- A new senior housing overlay zone was recently approved unanimously by council members.

“What is the next step for the developer if we pass this?” Councilman Joel Maw asked.

“Once the zone is approved and available, (the developer) could come right in and do it. He could get busy on demolishing the school,” Mayor Jay Jenkins replied, referring to the old Plain City Elementary which is not currently being used for school purposes.

Councilwoman LaFray Kelley said the public will still have opportunities to come and see just what the developer is planning before any housing actually goes in.
