OGDEN - The Weber State University women's soccer team continues its three-match homestand on Saturday when it hosts in-state rival Utah.
Kickoff between the Wildcats and Utes is set for noon at Wildcat Soccer Field.
Weber State (0-3-0) enters the match still looking for its first win of the season after three previous tries. The Wildcats dropped a 1-0 decision to the University of Wyoming at Wildcat Soccer Field in their last outing last Sunday afternoon.
Utah enters the match at 2-1-1 overall, and is coming off a 2-2 draw with Colorado College on Thursday afternoon in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Weber State and Utah will be meeting for the 12th time, with the Utes holding an 8-3-0 series advantage. Utah has won the last two meetings with the Wildcats, winning 1-0 at Ute Field on Sept. 15, 2011, and claiming a 3-2 win at Wildcat Soccer Field on Sept. 9, 2010.
Weber State's last win in the series came during the 2009 season when the Wildcats upset then-No. 21 Utah 1-0 at Ute Field in Salt Lake City.
The Wildcats, despite plenty of near misses, are still seeking their first goal of the season.
Freshman forward Mackenzie Harrison leads Weber State with five shots, placing two on goal. Junior midfielder Alyssa Amano and freshman midfielder Chansi Crompton each have four shots.
As a team, Weber State has allow just 38 total shots in three matches (12.7/match), and only 19 shots on frame.
Utah comes into the match with wins over Southern Utah (4-0) and BYU (1-0), and a neutral-site loss to Utah State (0-1), prior to Thursday's draw with Colorado College.
Bailey Nielsen leads the Utes with five total points (two goals, one assist), and has a team-high eight shots. Avery Ford has four points (two goals) on six shots.
