SOUTH SALT LAKE — The mother of a 19-year-old who got trapped under a load of steel in a Salt Lake-area train yard says she’s eternally grateful to the people who saved her son’s life. David Frame’s left leg was amputated at the train yard last Thursday, and his mother says he may lose his badly injured right leg. South Salt Lake Fire Chief Ron Morris says Frame and his dog apparently hopped a freight train in Denver. He was pinned when sheets of steel inside a train car shifted on top of him. The dog was killed in the accident. Frame’s mother, Milda Frame, tells KTVX-TV her son has been sedated since the accident and still has more surgeries ahead of him. But she says rescuers have given her back something "irreplaceable."
