SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Gary Herbert and his Democratic challenger, Peter Cooke, have agreed to a series of three debates.
Cooke had pushed for seven debates, but the two sides agreed on three debates before the Nov. 6 election.
All three debates will take place in Salt Lake City.
The first, set for Friday, will be hosted by the Utah League of Cities and Towns and will be broadcast on KSL Channel.
The second, hosted by the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, will be held
Oct. 4.
The final debate, set for Oct. 11, will be hosted by Vote Utah Partnership. It will be aired on KUED later in the day.
In the 2010 special election to fill Gov. Jon Huntsman’s term, Herbert agreed to eight debates.
