Brent and Judy Cook of Syracuse will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Family and friends may attend an open house in their honor from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Jensen Park Reception Center, 3176 S. Bluff Road, Syracuse.
They were married on Sept. 27, 1962, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple.
They have made Syracuse their home for 50 years. Their daughters and spouses are Brenda and Gary Archuleta, Caryn and Kelly Ryan, and Amy and Bryan Bair. They have 10 grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.
He was born in Ogden on July 3, 1941, to Lloyd and Faye Cook. He graduated from Davis High School. He has worked for R.C. Willey, Massey-Ferguson, and retired from the state of Utah after 24 years of service. Antelope Island will always be a special place for him. His hobbies include flying model helicopters, helping neighbors with odd jobs and relaxing with a cold Pepsi.
She was born in Ogden on Jan. 14, 1945, to Robert and Catherine Benton. She also graduated from Davis High School. She has worked for various companies and retired from the state of Utah after 22 years. In her spare time, she enjoys doing ceramics, flower gardening and making fudge for everyone's special occasions.
Both enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, whether at ball games, plays, posse, dance and piano recitals, or dinner at Costa Vida.
