Marvin Stratford Rabe of Ogden celebrated his 90th birthday with an open house held in his honor on Sept. 8.
He was born Sept. 6, 1922, the youngest son of Fred C. and Maude Stratford Rabe. His siblings are Fred S. Rabe, Beverly Bennion, Shirley Lyells, Marilyn Rabe (all deceased), and Marilyn and Ted Lundstrom of Fruit Heights. He married Barbara Christensen on Sept. 8, 1944. She is deceased. He is now married to Janet T. Hansen.
He graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber College, South Dakota State University and the University of Alaska.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for three years in Alaska during World War II.
He has worked in the finance and insurance business and is still an agent with Heiner’s Insurance Center.
His children and spouses are Lynne and Arnold Garzino, Marie and Lee Crowton, and Brad and Ann Rabe. He has 16 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
He enjoys life. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he has held many positions.
