Daniel and Patti Shrader of North Ogden were honored by their children for their 50th wedding anniversary at a special dinner and family gathering in Park City on Saturday, Sept. 1.
They were married in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Manti Temple on Sept. 1, 1962. They lived in Colorado until 2001.
He was born in Bryan, Texas. He and his family relocated to Denver, where he graduated from West High School.
She was born in Colorado Springs, Colo., and graduated from Colorado Springs High School.
After graduation, both attended Brigham Young University, where they met.
After their marriage, they lived in Denver, where he graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics. He received a Master of Business Administration degree from Colorado State University and was a certified public accountant in Colorado.
He retired from the state of Colorado, and she retired from the business office of the Longmont School District in 2000. They lived in Longmont, Colo., for 27 years before moving to North Ogden to be closer to their family.
Their children and spouses are Steve and Adrienne Shrader, Pleasant Grove; Stephanie and Scott Steiner, Pleasant View; Sherise and Mark Crosby, Pleasant Grove; and Sherrelyn and Mike Larsen, North Salt Lake. They have eight grandchildren.
