St. Joseph 5 (5)
At Wendover, the St. Joseph took a four-game winning streak West on I-80, but had all kinds of challenges against the Wildcats.
The Jayhawks had a player out due to disciplinary reasons and another at home ailing, and the nine player roster dropped a 15-5 league game that included rain and wind gusts as well.
"During the last four games, things had all come together," St. Joseph Steve Mendez said. "We'll bounce back."
The teams played fairly even, but a distastrous fourth inning in which St. Joseph committed six errors, allowing the home squad to score 8 runs.
Nick Gruet went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Jayhawks, who face a key league battle with West Ridge Academy on Wednesday afternoon at Ogden High.
