FBI identifies suspected 'Bucket List Bandit'

ERIE, Pa. — Authorities have identified a suspect dubbed the "Bucket List Bandit" who’s believed to be responsible for bank robberies in Roy, Utah, and in eight other states.

According to an arrest warrant issued Thursday and obtained by The Associated Press, 54-year-old Michael Eugene Brewster has been charged with a robbery that took place Monday in Erie.

He was nicknamed the Bucket List Bandit after allegedly telling a Utah bank teller in early July that he had only four months to live.

The warrant says a confidential informant contacted the FBI office in Erie and provided Brewster’s name.

Authorities then reviewed surveillance video from various robberies and found an "obvious likeness" to Brewster. A bank teller also identified his picture.

Brewster is also a suspect in robberies in Missouri, Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, North Carolina, Tennessee and Illinois.
