DUI suspected in fatal I-15 crash involving motorcycle

PLEASANT GROVE — Authorities say alcohol may have played a role in a rear-end crash that killed a man on Interstate 15 in Pleasant Grove.

Utah Highway Patrol officials say a Mitsubishi passenger car hit at motorcycle from behind a little after 1 a.m. Friday. The impact knocked off the driver and the passenger, who were both wearing helmets.

Authorities say the male passenger was run over by multiple vehicles and died on the scene. The motorcycle driver was taken by ambulance to a Provo hospital with critical injuries.

Troopers say the driver of the Mitsubishi was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Officials haven’t released the names of the people involved in the crash.
