Employees donate backpacks, supplies

CLEARFIELD — More than 500 backpacks filled with school supplies were delivered to the Davis Community Learning Center at Wasatch Elementary School this week.

The backpacks and school supplies were donated by employees of Kelloggs as part of United Way Day of Caring.

The company employees spent several weeks shopping for the backpacks and school supplies. Elementary school teachers in Davis School District invited students who did not have backpacks to attend the event.

The Davis Community Learning Center was created in 2009 by the school district and has since partnered with United Way of Salt Lake to meet the needs of area families.
