Syracuse man, pizza delivery driver issued citations after fight

SYRACUSE — Police delivered citations to a pizza delivery driver and another man following an altercation Friday night in Syracuse.

The incident began about 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a 7-11 near 2000 West and 1700 South, said Police Lt. Tracy Jensen.

A Papa John’s pizza delivery driver who was parked next to a female teenager opened his car door, pinning the girl’s finger as she was getting out of her vehicle, Jensen said. The driver said he apologized and drove off, said Jensen.

The girl went home and told her father about the incident. He then drove to Papa John’s located on 1700 South in Syracuse, where he and the delivery driver got into an altercation, said Jensen.

Both individuals were cited for simple assault.
