Dirk and Kay Kendall of Sunset will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Family and friends may attend an open house in their honor from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, in the Sunset Room at the Sunset City Hall building, 200 W. 1300 North.
They were married on Sept. 20, 1962, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. They have made their home in Sunset for most of their 50 years.
He was born in Preston, Idaho, on Feb. 20, 1942, to Merl and Donna Kendall. He graduated from Westside High School in Dayton, Idaho. He retired from Hill Air Force Base, where he spent most of his working years. He enjoys motorcycles, cars, airplanes, and visiting friends and family.
She was born in Ogden on March 17, 1941, to Lavere and Dorothy Field. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School in Ogden. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service. She enjoys doing family history work, particularly working in the indexing program. She also enjoys visiting friends and family.
Their five children and spouses are Michelle and Gregory Holt, Roy; Jan and David Koontz, Mendon; Darin and Cathy Kendall, Ogden; Jason and Keli Kendall, Sunset; and Robynn and Michael Stoddard, Roy. They have 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
