Morgan Grant Schow will celebrate his 80th birthday. Family and friends may attend an open house in his honor from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 22 at the Schow residence, 356 S. Sterling Drive, Fruit Heights. In case of inclement weather, the celebration will be held at the Fruit Heights LDS Stake Center, 170 N. Mountain Road.
He was born to Andrew and Nellie Schow on Sept. 29, 1932, in Lovell, Wyo. He grew up in Layton, and graduated from Davis High School and Weber State College.
He married his sweetheart, Bonnie Densley, on April 22 1960, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
They made their home in Kaysville and later moved to Fruit Heights.
He retired from civil service at Hill Air Force Base and the state of Utah.
He and his wife have enjoyed their retirement by serving as service missionaries at the LDS Church History Museum. They also fulfilled an LDS mission to Rochester, N.Y., where they served at church history sites in Palmyra, N.Y. They are currently temple workers at the Bountiful LDS Temple.
He is the father to five children: Cheryl Young, DeAnn Schroader, Lauri Matthews, Steven Schow and Kristi Martinsen. He has 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
