BOUNTIFUL -- Police rescued a man Tuesday night from the ledge of a three-story building in Bountiful.
The incident unfolded around 6:30 p.m., Bountiful Police Officer David Suekawa said.
A man climbed up the scaffolding on the side of a building at 108 S. Main St., was on the roof and was yelling, said Suekawa.
Officers using a South Davis Metro Fire Agency ladder truck went up on the roof and talked the man into giving himself up.
He was on the ledge, but it's unclear if he planned to jump, Suekawa said.
He was transported to Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful for a psychiatric evaluation. The incident lasted a little less than an hour.
