Bid accepted to resurface Pleasant View road

PLEASANT VIEW -- A bid has been approved to resurface the pavement on 2550 North.

City Administrator Melinda Brimhall said the city received two bids for the project, and the bid was awarded to Advanced Paving for $15,710. Brimhall said the repairs will run from the city limits to 600 West.

“This was a state road,” said Mayor Doug Clifford, “It has a heavy duty base, which was put down originally by engineers.”

Clifford said the road was good, with a strong base, but there are layers on top that are peeling like a blister.

Brimhall said the repair is a Band-Aid, but hopefully, in the future, the city will get more improvements for the road.

“This will keep it in usable shape until we get funding to redo the whole road,” said Clifford.
