Discussion series to begin in Brigham

BRIGHAM CITY — Steve Mitton, assistant professor of history at Utah State University’s Brigham City campus, will lead a discussion series titled “Taking the Politics Out of Understanding American Politics.”

The series will start on Thursday, Sept. 27, with “The U.S. Constitution — Myth and Reality.”

The discussion will run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Brigham City Library, 26 E. Forest St.

Others topics in the series will be “Since the New Deal: Whose Welfare State?” on Oct. 25 and “The 2012 U.S. Presidential Election in Historical Perspective” on Nov. 29.
