Bob and Lynda Waddoups Taylor celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this summer with a family gathering and barbecue at their new home in Farr West.
They were married in Ogden’s old Threshold Reception Center on Sept. 18, 1962. Their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ogden Temple.
Both are Weber High School graduates. He grew up in Plain City. He is also a graduate of Weber State College. He retired from Weber County as the director of roads.
She grew up in Ogden and Roy. She is also a graduate of WSU with an associate degree. She retired from Weber County schools, where she was a reading tutor.
They are active members in the LDS Church and have served in many ward and stake positions.
Their hobbies have been four wheeling at the dunes, hiking, camping, boating, golfing, gardening, and traveling to visit capitols and temples in the United States. Their favorite capitol is Atlanta, where their oldest son lives.
They most enjoy spending time with family, never missing a chance to attend the activities of their children and grandchildren. They enjoy the parties, sleep overs, card games, learning games, trips, baking, fishing, and four wheeling.
They raised their four children in Plain City, where they lived for 42 years. Their children and spouses are Jody and Kevin Young, Tod and LeeAnn Taylor, Leslie Taylor, and Jase and Rachel Taylor.
They have 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
