Gordon “Kent” Youngman and Sandra Greenwood Youngman of Layton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were honored by their family with a dinner at the Maddox Ranch House Restaurant.
They were married on Sept. 21, 1962, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple.
The third of four children, he was born in Ogden on Feb. 27, 1941, to Vernon and Lenore Youngman. He spent his career working at Hill Air Force Base as a machinist. His hobbies include restoring cars, remodeling homes, home projects, serving those in need and spending time with family.
The fourth of five children, she was born in Ogden on May 1, 1943, to Barnard and Bernice Greenwood. She attended Weber State University. She says her greatest job and joy was being a stay-at-home mom. Her hobbies include reading, gardening, scrapbooking, lending a listening ear, playing games and spending time with cherished family and friends.
They are Ben Lomond High School graduates. Together they spend many hours supporting their children and grandchildren in all their activities. Both have also enjoyed serving in many callings in their church.
Their children and spouses are Lori and Mark Hendry, Ty and Tami Youngman, Jamie and Jeff Hass, Kari and Justin Knight, Brad Youngman, and Amanda Youngman and Brent Nelson. They are grandparents of 15 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
