Henry pleads not guilty in shooting

FARMINGTON — The man who deputies say shot another man in West Point pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday.

Joshua Carl Henry, 38, of Salt Lake City, is charged with first-degree felony attempted murder, third-degree felony sale or transfer of a firearm to a restricted person, and class A misdemeanor giving false personal information to a police officer.

Henry is accused of shooting a man at a party in West Point on Sept. 1.

A bullet grazed the victim’s face and penetrated the victim’s chest, according to court documents.

Henry appeared in 2nd District Court in Farmington to enter the plea. A pretrial conference was set for Oct. 16.

Henry is being held in Davis County Jail on a no-bail warrant out of West Valley Justice Court on unrelated charges.
