Bountiful cleanup project on the schedule

BOUNTIFUL -- A fall cleanup project has been scheduled for Oct. 8-12.

During the special event, residents can get rid of properly bundled, bagged or boxed trash, refuse, or limbs and trees that are cut and tied in 5-foot lengths.

No bundle or bag should exceed 50 pounds. Items such as old furniture or appliances should be placed on the drive approach or park strip, not on the street or sidewalk, according to Gary Blowers, director of streets and sanitation.

As part of the cleanup, the landfill will not charge a fee to city residents during the cleanup week or the following week. The landfill is no longer accepting propane tanks or tires of any kind.
