Woman extricated after truck hits car

WEST HAVEN — An accident just before 6 p.m. Friday resulted in a woman requiring extrication from her car.

Police said the woman was taken to a hospital but likely would be released soon after she was checked over.

Weber County Sheriff’s Sgt. Wayne Smith said a 24-year-old man in a 2009 Dodge pickup truck was heading west and ran a stop light on 21st Street near the Interstate 15 southbound off ramp at 1419 West.

Smith said the man hit a 1996 Toyota Corolla that had a green light and was turning east onto 21st Street from the southbound off-ramp.

The Toyota had five occupants, including a baby in the back seat. Smith said only the driver, a 54-year-old woman, needed extrication and medical attention.
