ERIE, Pa. -- The man suspected of being the Bucket List Bandit is scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate in northwestern Pennsylvania on charges that he robbed a bank there on Sept. 10.
The public defender for that man, 54-year-old Michael Brewster, of Pensacola, Fla., refused to comment Monday.
But federal court records show Brewster faces a preliminary exam and detention hearing Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Susan Paradise Baxter in Erie on Thursday.
Brewster has been in federal custody since he was arrested Sept. 13 in Oklahoma.
The FBI believes Brewster has robbed 10 banks in nine states since June 21, but has so far charged him only with the Huntingdon Bank robbery in Erie. He's nicknamed the Bucket List Bandit because he allegedly told a teller he had only four months to live during a July robbery in Utah.
