Dave and Sherry Squires of Riverdale will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Family and friends may attend an open house in their honor from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 5 at the Riverdale Community Center, 4360 S. Parker Drive. No gifts.
They met dragging Washington Boulevard and were married on Oct. 4, 1962, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple.
He grew up in Brigham City and graduated from Box Elder High School. He is employed at Hill Air Force Base.
She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ben Lomond High School. She was employed at the Cinedome Theater and Harmons in Roy.
They enjoy many activities together including, bowling, car shows, drag racing, ball games and hanging out with family.
They have three children: Mitzi Wilson and Pat Redfearn, Barry Squires (deceased) and Teresa Squires (deceased). They have seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
