Elna A. Brady of Elko, Nev., will celebrate her 90th birthday.
Friends and family may attend an open house in her honor from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Sorenson residence, 653 W. 6300 South, Murray. No gifts.
She was born Oct. 4, 1922, in Alberta, Canada, to Lemuel and Annie Adams.
She married Jack E. Brady on June 10, 1940, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
They raised five children. They lived in several areas, including Salt Lake City, Dutch John, Sunset and Ogden.
She worked at Lee's Yarn and Things in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Through the years, she has enjoyed bowling, crocheting, cross stitching and cooking.
She co-owned and managed Leisure Pool and Spa in Ogden for more than 25 years. She was known as "Grandma" to many customers. She was president of the Ben Lomond Chapter of American Business Women's Association in 1986, 1987, and from 1993 to 1994. She was also 1988 Business Woman of the Year.
She served in various positions in her church and now resides with her daughter in Elko, enjoying her pinochle club and participating in the Senior Olympics.
Her children and spouses are Tom and Ella Rae Edwards, Moab; JoAnn Schuldies, Elko, Nev.; Doug and Karen Bench, West Jordan; Lynn and Merrilyn Kirkman, West Point; and John and Kim Brady, Eden.
She has 18 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
