Pedestrian killed jaywalking in Davis County

SUNSET — An 85-year-old man died while jaywalking on a busy street at about 7 a.m. Monday.

A full-size Chevrolet truck traveling northbound on Main Street near 2300 North at about 45 miles an hour, struck the victim, Sunset Police Lt. Bruce Arbogast said.

The driver was traveling at speed limit and had the right away, Arbogast said.

The victim died at the scene.

Police have identified the victim, but are waiting until the family is notified before the name is released.
