Girls soccer: Lakers seniors finish regular season in style

WASHINGTON TERRACE -- Ten Bonneville High seniors put the finishing touches on their fourth Region 5 girls soccer championship in a row with a 6-0 victory over Roy on Tuesday afternoon at home.

The group went undefeated in league play for the second straight season and have now gone 29 straight games without a loss.

Lexi Stratford had two goals and an assist, while Ellee Hall, Sienna Thornock, Ivy Ulrich and Emily Tafunai all added goals for Bonneville. Madeline Jensen also tallied an assist.

Keeper Megan Philpot posted her 10th shutout on the season. The Lakers will open state 4-A play on Tuesday against Orem.

* BOX ELDER 2, LOGAN 1: At Logan, Paige Stevens and Lana Willard each scored as the Bees pulled out a late win on the road.

* MOUNTAIN CREST 0, SKY VIEW 0: At Hyrum, the Mustangs and Bobcats battled to a scoreless draw.

Region 1

* FREMONT 4, WEBER 1: At Plain City, with Region 1's four playoff spots determined, the Warriors and Wolves met for pride and placement.

With the Elmers leading the way offensively, and Fremont's defense combining to shut down Weber after halftime, the Silver Wolves solidified a No. 2 seed for next week's state 5-A girls soccer tournament with a 4-1 victory on Tuesday afternoon.

Mariah Elmer scored a pair of goals, while Mikayla Elmer scored a goal and assisted on Hannah Loftus' goal for Fremont.

Fremont's coaching staff complimented the defensive effort, paced by keeper Kenzie Andersen.

* LAYTON 4, SYRACUSE 3 (2OT): At Syracuse, Jayne Robinson provided all the offense for the Lancers in a double-overtime thriller.

Sidney Stokes, Katie Duncan and Logan Hunter each notched goals for the Titans.

* NORTHRIDGE AT DAVIS: At Kaysville, no score was reported.

Region 11

* OGDEN 8, MORGAN 0: At Ogden, the Tigers rolled to victory behind three goals from Kiley Porter and a shutout in net by Kelsey East. Caylee Carter and Lindsey Brey scored two times apiece and Jaimee Porter added another for Ogden.

* BEN LOMOND 5, TOOELE 0: At Tooele, Baily Rosche pumped in three goals for the hat trick, as McKenzie Abbott and Sammy Rodriguez chipped in scores of their own to help the Scots blow out the Buffaloes on the road.

Goalkeeper Linza Driscoll recorded her eighth shutout of the season for Ben Lomond in the win.
