DENVER — The campaign for Republican Mitt Romney is announcing the support of John Elway.
The campaign released a written statement Monday from the former Denver Broncos quarterback saying that in tough economic times, the country needs a president who understands how to get America working again. The statement went on to say America needs a comeback team, and Romney and his running mate Paul Ryan are that team.
The announcement came shortly before Romney’s campaign appearance at Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Denver.
Romney and President Barack Obama will debate on Wednesday at the University of Denver. Obama is following that up with a campaign rally Thursday in Denver at Sloan’s Lake Park.
