Legal administrator receives honor

OGDEN -- A local legal administrator has been singled out for an award, accompanied by kind words from the Chief Justice of the Utah Supreme Court. Sylvester Daniels was presented the Judicial Administration Award for his work as the Trial Court Executive of 2nd District Court.

The title of trial court executive means Daniels presides over all court employees in the 2nd District, which covers Weber, Davis and Morgan counties. His main office is in Ogden.

The Judicial Administration Award is presented to a supervisor making significant contributions to increased efficiency in court operations, according to a press release from the state’s Administrative Office of the Courts that announced Daniel’s award. He was specifically cited for his work in moving the courts to a paperless and electronic process, known as e-filing.

“It has been said that leaders take an organization to a place that they may not have gone,” said Chief Justice Durrant.
