Public invited to immigration forum

OGDEN — The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd is sponsoring a communitywide immigration forum from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wildcat Theater, Shepherd Union Building, Weber State University.

The forum will cover legal, social, ethical and political issues.

There will be a panel of five people: Mark Alvarez, a Salt Lake City attorney; the Rev. Theresa Novak, minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Ogden; the Rev. Pablo Ramos, canon for Latino ministries in the Episcopal Diocese; Dr. Rob Reynolds, professor of sociology at WSU; and State Rep. Ryan Wilcox, R-Ogden.

John Kimball, from the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, will be the moderator.

Stakeholders in the immigration debate will argue their positions, seek common ground and respond to observations and questions.
