W. Donald Clark of Clinton, formerly of Roy, celebrated his 80th birthday with a family dinner held in his honor at the Maddox Ranch House Restaurant.
The third of three boys, he was born Oct. 4, 1932, in Malad, Idaho, to Lynn and Thelma Clark.
He grew up in Malad, where he met his high school sweetheart Glenna Monson. They eloped and were married in Wyoming on March 6, 1951. They moved to Ogden and later settled in Roy. Their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. They were married for 58 years before she died in September 2009.
Together they raised four children. Their children and their spouses are Craig Clark, Tim and Julie Clark, Cindy and Tyne Trimble, Tammy Clark and also a daughter-in-law Sherlene Clark. He has 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
He attended Weber State College and owned several of his own businesses. He also worked as a general contractor and sales manager.
He has held many callings in the LDS Church, including Sunday School president, high counselor and bishop.
The couple enjoyed traveling. They have traveled all over the United States, to Japan, Korea, Europe, Wales, Mexico and the Caribbean.
He enjoys crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with his family.
