Puppy found hanged from dog house

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. —A Flagstaff woman returned from a short trip this weekend to find her puppy hanged from its own doghouse, police said.

The woman returned home after a visit to Sedona on Sunday and found the puppy hanging from a noose, police spokesman Sgt. James Jackson says.

The woman cut the puppy down so her children wouldn’t see it and called police.

Whoever killed the dog is only guilty of a misdemeanor but police are still doing everything they can to solve the case. They’re asking anyone with information to call them, Jackson told the Arizona Daily Sun.

The woman told officers police had been at her home about two weeks earlier after someone complained about her dogs barking, Jackson says. An officer could not find any record of a prior incident
