FARR WEST -- Planning Commissioner John Stewart said he would like to see the city apply for a block grant this year.
"In the past 30 years we have brought in no major money from grants," said Stewart, "If no project was done it was no big deal. Now that the Junior High is going in, we will have to put that sidewalk in."
Stewart said he would really like to see the city get going on the grant application and wanted project ideas and a public hearing.
"I'd like to see the council raise the bar on the grants period, and see if we can get money flowing in," said Stewart.
Councilwoman Ava Painter said she is working on the CBDG (Community Block Development) grant for the city.
