OGDEN -- The Board of Commissioners of Weber County renewed a contract between the county and the U.S. Forest Service for law enforcement services.

Through the contract, Weber County sheriff’s deputies maintain responsibility for securing roads, campgrounds and other Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest recreation areas.

Weber County Sheriff Terry Thompson said the agreement is a good way for state, local and federal agencies to maintain good cooperation.

The commissioners approved the contract Tuesday morning in the Commission Chambers of the Weber Center, 2380 Washington Boulevard, Ogden.
