Chevron to donate to Davis schools

FARMINGTON — Chevron has committed to put up to $500,000 in classrooms in Davis and Salt Lake counties for the second year in a row through “The Fuel Your School program,” which provides useful funding for eligible classroom projects.

Last year, more than 224 classroom projects at 69 Davis School District schools were funded through the partnership.

In dollars and cents, that meant a total of $130,714 in classroom supplies was given to the district’s schools.

This year, Chevron could give even more. For every gas purchase of eight gallons or more at Chevron and Texaco stations, $1 is committed to classroom projects registered on DonorsChoose.org. District teachers have been encouraged to register their funding requests on the website.
