Frontrunner hits pedestrian

SALT LAKE CITY — A pedestrian has been taken to the hospital after walking into the path of a Frontrunner train in Salt Lake City.

Utah Transit Authority spokesman Gerry Carpenter says a train was entering the Salt Lake Central station at a low speed about 11:30 a.m. Friday.

Carpenter says the a man, who’s about 35 or 40 years old, somehow didn’t see the approaching train, and was hit by it and spun around.

Carpenter describes the man’s injuries as minor.

The accident caused minor delays in train service.
