OGDEN — Congregational United Church of Christ will host its 14th annual International Fair Trade Sale from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 20.
The church is at 3350 Harrison Blvd., behind and up the hill from the Key Realty building.
The event will feature hundreds of fair trade items for sale, including gift, holiday, household, clothing, toys, jewelry, coffee, tea, and chocolate products, according to a news release from the church.
There will be items from more than 30 countries and several fair trade organizations, including SERRV, Lucuma Designs, Global Crafts, Global Mamas and Equal Exchange.
New this year will be items from Partners for Just Trade, African Market Baskets and Mayan Hands.
Items from Ten Thousand Villages will be at the sale Saturday.
Calene Lucero will have handcrafted items by Adi, direct from Ghana, to benefit Hands for Hope, which provides educational opportunities for people in Ghana.
“By working with fair trade organizations, and not adding any local overhead costs, we are able to market these products from developing parts of the world at a reasonable price and ensure that a fair wage is returned to the producers to benefit them, their families, and community,” the news release from the church states.
Beverages and baked goods will be available throughout the sale.
